iPhone Restaurant Apps PDF Print E-mail
Written by Will

The iPhone has many apps to help you find good food near you. These are some of the newer and best ones.

Oink

Even though the name implies it Oink is not strictly for food. What it does differently from many review apps (such as Yelp) is that it is about the individual dishes rather than the restaurant. The best pastrami sandwich in town might be at a deli more known for soup. This app makes that distinction.

Fondu

Fondu is a social network of restaurant reviews. 2011-11-24Reviews are short and to the point. Instead of hearing Monday morning at the coffee machine about the great restaurant your workplace's resident foodie went to on Friday you can see it here on Saturday and beat her to the punch.

Foodspotting

Foodspotting might be the grand daddy of all restaurant review applications. It allows you to search by dish as well as restaurant or location. But what I suspect most people use it for is to browse all of the beautiful pictures that have been submitted.

Urbanspoon

This app is a must for anybody that travels or somebody new to a neighborhood. It uses the phone's GPS to find nearby restaurant depending neighborhood, style of cuisine, price and user-submitted ratings. With Yelp's questionable reputation this is a more than adequate replacement.
