This is the simplest way to prepare a large amount of shrimp for a party. Who doesn't love shrimp cocktail?
Peel and devein shrimp leaving the tails on. Dust with Old Bay Seasoning. Fill a large stock pot with water. Add a tablespoon or two of Old Bay Seasoning or crab boil as well as a crushed clove of garlic. If you have any leftover vegetables in your fridge (scallions, celery, carrots) you can add those to the water. Bring to a boil. Once the water is at a rolling boil add the shrimp. Stir. Cook for ninety seconds. Remove to a bowl with a slotted spoon. Place the bowl immediately in the freezer to stop the shrimp from continuing to cook. Leave in the freezer until chilled. Serve with cocktail sauce. Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 90 seconds Total Time: 12 minutes |
